What "enhance video quality" covers
People use the phrase for many different jobs, and a good enhancer has to deal with all of them: blockiness from compression, grain from low light, soft focus, low resolution, and the washed-out look of old recordings. We handle these as one pipeline. Cleanup comes first (deblocking and noise reduction, which are fast and predictable), then the AI step redraws detail on top of a clean base.
Doing it in that order matters. If you sharpen first, you sharpen the damage. Clean first, then rebuild, and the model has far less noise to mistake for texture.
What improves, and by how much
These are the typical changes you will see in the preview, from largest to subtlest:
- Blocky areas (skies, walls, skin) become smooth and natural.
- Edges and text gain definition without ringing or halos.
- Grain and colour noise in dark scenes drops noticeably.
- Resolution goes up to 1080p, rebuilt rather than stretched.
- Original audio is kept untouched.
What each stage does
| Stage | What happens | Applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Deblock and denoise | Smooths compression blocks and grain | All clips up to 10 minutes |
| AI restoration | Redraws edges, faces, text and texture | Clips up to 2 minutes, not already HD |
| Finish | Gentle sharpen and export to H.264 up to 1080p | All clips |
When enhancement helps, and when it does not
A video that is already crisp and well exported does not need enhancement, and we will not run the AI on clips that are already HD and only mildly soft. You would pay for a result you cannot see. On the other hand, clips that look "off" for no clear reason, such as a 720p recording that looks like 360p, tend to jump visibly.
Be wary of tools that promise 4K from anything. Doubling the resolution of footage that has no detail gives you a bigger video, not a better one. We cap output at 1080p on purpose, because that is where the improvement is real. For a deeper look, read our honest guide to upscaling to 4K.
Online enhancer or desktop software?
Desktop AI software gives you control and runs offline, but you need a powerful graphics card, an install and an afternoon of learning its settings. A browser tool trades control for speed: you hand over one file, and get a result. For a one-off home video, a work clip or a social post, that trade is usually the right one. If you are processing a feature film, you want the desktop route.
Common uses
People enhance video for school projects, client work, family keepsakes, podcast clips, real estate walkthroughs, YouTube re-uploads and old training material. What they share is a clip that will be seen on a screen larger than the one it was made for. A video that looks passable in a messaging thread often looks poor in a presentation.
If you create content regularly, the monthly plan covers up to 30 videos at $14.99, which works out much cheaper than buying single clips.
How we handle your video
Your file is uploaded over an encrypted connection, processed, and deleted automatically after 24 hours. Previews carry a watermark; paid downloads do not. Payment is handled by Polar, and there is a 7-day refund guarantee if the full video does not beat the preview.
A realistic expectation
Enhancement is not a magic wand. A realistic outcome is a clean, sharp, natural-looking version of what was there. If you want a 4K cinema look from a 360p webcam clip, nothing will do that. If you want the same webcam clip to stop looking like a mosaic, that is within reach.

What is the maximum video length?
Up to 10 minutes and 500 MB. AI restoration applies to clips up to 2 minutes; longer clips get our standard cleanup.
Does it change the audio?
No. We keep your original audio track.
What resolution do I get?
Up to 1080p. We do not offer 4K because the extra pixels would be invented rather than recovered.
Is this better than a desktop upscaler?
It is faster and needs no hardware. A desktop tool can give more control for long projects.
